Ability House, provides life skills & recreational activities which aim to develop and maintain participants’ ability to take part in community life and meaningful activities, enhance participants’ independence, provide participants with opportunities for ongoing learning and development as well as developing and sustaining social interactions.
Person centered planning approaches are used when individually designing activities for participants. Ability House staff get to know the participants and establish the individual’s interests, goals and aspirations. Activities are designed to give the participant and their parents/carers choice in a range of capacity appropriate activities.
Activities that support the development and maintenance of independent living skills, promote health and fitness and provide community access are included in our individualized approach to activity planning.
We offer a range of individual and group activities and recreational outings so you can get involved in your local community, learn new skills, build your confidence and stay active and social.
Meet new friends, try new activities, play a sport, learn new life skills, join a new social group or go on a holiday! We specialize in supporting adults with disabilities to achieve their individual goals and learn new life skills. .
